Hard to Treat Cavity Wall Insulation - Loft Insulation

There are many homes throughout the UK that are classed as Hard to Treat HTT from a Cavity Wall Insulation perspective.  Many of these homes are three storey or more and the very nature of their height dictates the classification of HTT.

My company are now forging links with Cavity Wall Insulation and Loft Insulation Installers across the UK to capitalise on a mini revival within the Insulation Industry.  Many insulation firms have been decimated by the previous insulation grants schemes coming to an end. Councils and social housing providers have been reducing demand for the standard insulations they usually required in large numbers i.e. loft insulation and cavity wall insulation.  The reasons for the demand tailing off is simply a matter of finance and differing supply models being formulated.

TAKE ADVANTAGE OF FREE HTT CAVITY WALL INSULATION

Under the new Energy Companies Obligation ECO, access to finance is key to maintaining the drive for energy efficiency in homes. The government is supporting the continual insulation revival by promoting various schemes which include the Green Deal and Energy Companies Obligation.

For a home to become more energy efficient, there is usually a hierarchy of measures that are recommended. Insulation is the No 1 measure that is able to reduce heat loss and thus reduce energy costs.  Think about it - the more you can stop heat escaping and retained within the property, the less likely you will require to either have your heating on or have to increase the temperature your home is heated to.

My company Eastern Energy Ltd now help all those individuals that are a disadvantaged when it comes to financing either insulation measures or heating.  Individuals who are private tenants or home owners and are in receipt of Pension Credit, Child Tax Credit and other Income Based Benefits will be able to take advantage of the Free Services we provide.

We now offer a full service that addresses:

1.   Free Insulation - both Loft Insulation and HTT Cavity Wall Insulation.

2.   Free A Rated Gas Boilers.

Landlords we can address your property portfolios.  Local Authority's LAs and Housing Associations we can tailor financing to address your specific requirements.

Private tenants and home owners receiving any of the above benefits or credits can contact Eastern Energy Ltd direct on 0800 999 7992 or CONTACT US NOW

The main types of boilers that qualify are usually boilers that are old, inefficient or broken non-condensing boilers, as the Affordable Warmth Scheme provide an 'A' rated condensing boiler as the replacement. SEDBUK (Seasonal Efficiency of Domestic Boilers in the UK) - Affordable Warmth

The Government's recommended testing system, the Standard Assessment Procedure 2009 (or SAP 2009) uses information from SEDBUK to measure the energy efficiency of domestic central heating boilers in the United Kingdom. SEDBUK is an estimate of the seasonal efficiency of a domestic central heating boiler when working in typical conditions in the United Kingdom and is used in SAP assessments and in Building Regulations.

SEDBUK ratings for domestic central heating boilers are expressed in percentage bands, relating to the estimated level of energy efficiency of the boiler.  Until October 2010 the percentage energy efficiency bands were also expressed on an 'A to G' rating but this was withdrawn to avoid confusion with the new European energy labelling system which is similar to that used for other domestic appliances such as refrigerators.

Old 'A to G' Rating used up to Oct 20110 SEDBUK Percentage ratings

A       90% and above
B       86% - 90%
C       82% - 86%
D       78% - 82%
E       74% - 78%
F       70% - 74%
G        Below 70%

Most if not all the installations that fall within the AWO will be FREE to those who qualify.

The Affordable Warmth Obligation, also known as the Home Heating Cost Reduction Obligation, is aimed at low income and vulnerable households.  Many fuel poor households suffer fuel poverty and may not want to apply for a Green Deal and would not want to buy into a "pay as you save scheme", instead they would need the benefit of increased 'Affordable Warmth' and comfort in their homes.  The AWG would not see much "energy savings" from a Green Deal because their usage is typically low because of their financial position.  Affordable Warmth Scheme is available to ensure homes are kept warm and energy costs are kept down.

There are many energy efficient measures that fall within the scope of the Affordable Warmth Obligation and the main specific ones include Affordable Warmth Scheme Free boilers, Affordable Warmth Scheme Free loft insulation, Affordable Warmth Scheme Free cavity wall insulation, Affordable Warmth Scheme Free replacement glazing to name a few.

The eligibility for Affordable Warmth is as follows:

1.  To qualify for Affordable Warmth Obligation AWO free grants You must be in the private residence sector either as an owner or as a tenant (with Landlords' consent).  The Affordable Warmth Obligation  AWO grants will not be available to Council nor to Housing Association tenants.

2.  A person living in domestic premises will be a member of the Affordable warmth Group AWG if the person is in receipt of specific benefits.  These benefits can be found by clicking here:

My Company can help all those who qualify for Affordable Warmth Free Grants.  I personally will ensure that you will get what you are entitled to, that will help to keep the cold away and the money in your pockets.  Apply today.

Green Deal Providers-Green Deal Plan

Climate Change Act 2008

As part of its ambitious targets to reduce carbon emissions in the UK by 80% before 2050, the new coalition government have introduced the Green Deal Plan. This Green Deal Plan is set to revolutionise the green energy efficiency of homes and businesses throughout the UK by allowing the general public and businesses to improve their green energy efficiency with no upfront costs. Instead Green Deal Providers will recoup these costs through a charge in instalments on the energy bill.

Green Deal Providers ensure that the general public can help address climate change by reducing energy waste and most importantly CO2 emissions. The Green Deal Plan is a self financing improvement scheme designed to bring the UK's housing stock up to date and in line with many of our European neighbours.  All over the country the Green Deal Plan will allow tenants, home-owners and businesses to obtain energy efficiency improvements without any up font cost via Green Deal Assessments.

The Green Deal Provider is the counter signatory to the Green Deal Plan and responsible for both the provision of the green deal finance and arranging the green deal energy efficiency works. I work with Green Deal Providers and can arrange the necessary green deal assessments and coordinate the green deal finance.  Many homes will also qualify for Energy Company Obligation ECO grants i.e. Solid Wall Insulation.

The Green Deal Provider will offer a Green Deal Plan to customers based on recommendations from the accredited local Green Deal Approved Advisors undertaking the Green Deal Assessments. The Green Deal Plan sets out the financial terms of the agreement and will include extra consumer protections such as warranties to cover the measures and installation, dealing with customer complaints and providing information when a new bill payer moves in.

The Green Deal Provider will arrange for the installation of energy efficiency works, carried out by local Green Deal Installers, and will have an ongoing obligation in relation to Green Deal Plans.

Subject: FITs/RHI/Green Deal - Information Update

Good afternoon,

FITs/RHI/Green Deal

Following clarification last week from the European Commission, DECC is now able to confirm how FITs and the Green Deal can work together to support consumers wanting to install microgeneration technologies.

Customers are able to use Green Deal finance to contribute towards the cost of installing micro CHP, micro wind or solar PV on their property.

Only the cost savings on their energy bill as a result of generating their own power can be used in calculating the amount of finance support they can get from the Green Deal. FITs generation and export payments are not included, but the customer can benefit from the Green Deal while also separately receiving FITs payments.

Subject to finalisation of RHI policy, installations attracting the Renewable Heat Incentive will also be able to benefit from the Green Deal. Again the amount of support will be limited to the energy bill saving and will not include RHI payments.

Kind regards,
Emma
